LM4E-1-3-Pt100 4 electrodes conductivity measuring cell with Pt100
The advantage of the 4-electrode conductivity measuring cell is that the measured conductivity has a very high accuracy even with dirty contacts. This is due to the fact that working electrodes and sense electrodes are integrated separately in the measuring cell. The measuring current flows between the working electrodes depending on the conductance of the measuring liquid. The voltage induced in the liquid is then applied to the sense electrodes.
If the contacts are dirty, the voltage at the sense electrodes would be too low. In order to keep the sensor voltage constant, the measuring current at the working electrodes is increased by the evaluation electronics. The sense voltage is directly related to the electrical conductivity of the solution.
